Intro to Rally and Drafting October 6, 2024 Please join the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog Club of the Rockies for a fun morning of “Intro to Rally and Drafting” followed by Swissy play time. Come for either or both. No experience necessary, all are welcome! Light lunch and drinks provided. Members are encouraged to coordinate & join the hikes either for an official leg or to just get out with your dogs! You do not need to complete all the distance if you are joining for fun! Thanksgiving Pack Hike: Black Forest Section 16 Loop November 30, 2024 and December 1, 2024 Meet at 7:30 AM, Hiking by 8:00 AM Co-Coordinators: Michelle Lee and Mike Nelson Location: Black Forest Section 16 Black Forest Section 16 is a square-shaped loop in the Black Forest, north of Colorado Springs. The trail is a fairly wide gravel path with very little elevation change. The area is heavily forested, providing some shade during your hike. The hike will complete the loop twice. This is a great training hike to join us for a 4 mile loop if you are just getting started. Event Fee: $10 Members/$15 non-Members RSVP here. December Pack Hike: The Pineries November 30, 2024 and December 1, 2024 Meet at 7:30 AM, Hiking by 8:00 AM Co-Coordinators: Michelle Lee and Mike Nelson Location: The Pineries Open Space, 13201 Volmer Road (.6 miles north of the intersection of Volmer and Shoup) The Pineries Open Space site straddles the Palmer Divide in the Black Forest and is characterized by gentle rolling terrain, covered by ponderosa pine forests and grassland meadows.
